Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed chocolate wafer cookies
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tbsp anise liqueur
  • 2 tbsp dark rum
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, for rolling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine crushed chocolate wafer cookies, ground almonds, and confectioners’ sugar.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix together anise liqueur, dark rum, honey, and melted butter.

  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until thoroughly combined.

  4. Chill the dough for at least an hour.

  5. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form the dough into small balls and roll them in cocoa powder.

  6. Chill the rum balls for an additional 30 minutes before serving.
