How To Make Anise Cherry Tart

A sweet and aromatic dessert with a crunchy crust, juicy cherries, and a hint of anise.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of ready-to-bake puff pastry
  • 1 cup of pitted cherries
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1 tsp of anise seeds
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 4 squares.

  3. In a bowl, combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and anise seeds.

  4. Spoon cherry mixture onto each pastry square, leaving a small border around the edges.

  5. Brush edges of pastry with egg wash.

  6. Bake for 35 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and cherries are bubbly.

  7. Allow to cool before serving.
