Ingredients

  • 6 lemons
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 4 cups of water
  • A few drops of red food coloring (optional)
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the juice from the lemons and strain out any seeds or pulp.

  2. In a pitcher, dissolve the sugar in 1 cup of water, stirring until completely dissolved.

  3. Add the lemon juice, remaining water, and a few drops of red food coloring (if desired), and stir well.

  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice.

  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  6. Serve in glasses filled with ice cubes.

  7. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves, if desired.
