How To Make Creamy Homemade Hot Cocoa

Ingredients
- 4 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of hot water
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate syrup
Instructions

In a saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder and sugar.

Add the hot water and stir until the mixture is smooth.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly.

Heat the hot cocoa mixture until it is steaming hot, but not boiling.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the hot cocoa into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate syrup if desired.
