- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of raisins
- 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of water
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, chopped walnuts, and lemon juice. Mix well.
-
In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Pour the slurry over the apple mixture and stir until well combined.
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle about 12×10 inches in size.
-
Transfer the rolled-out pastry onto the prepared baking sheet.
-
Spoon the apple mixture onto the center of the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
-
Roll out the second sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle of the same size and place it over the apple filling.
-
Use a fork or your fingers to press and seal the edges of the pastry together, creating a seal.
-
Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg for a shiny finish.
-
Make a few small slits on the top of the pastry to allow steam to escape.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
-
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
