How To Make Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of white rice
- 4 cups of whole milk
- 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Optional toppings: raisins, cinnamon sugar
Instructions

In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted.

Serve the rice pudding warm or chilled. Optional: Top with raisins and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before serving.
