Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  4. Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. The mixture should be smooth and shiny.

  6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until well combined.

  7. Drop rounded spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.

  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and puffed up.

  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
