How To Make Baked Alaska

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of sponge cake
  • 4 scoops of ice cream
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Place a slice of sponge cake on a baking sheet. Top with a scoop of ice cream. Repeat for all slices of cake and scoops of ice cream.

  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

  3. Spread the meringue mixture over the ice cream and cake, making sure it covers the entire surface and seals the edges.

  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the prepared cakes in the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes, or until the meringue turns golden brown.

  5. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
