Ingredients

  • 1 pound of strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.

  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has thickened.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool.

  6. Transfer the preserves to sterilized jars and seal tightly.

  7. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
