How To Make Date Jam

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh dates, pitted and chopped
  • 200ml water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the dates, water, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  2. Cook the mixture for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dates are soft and the mixture has thickened.

  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and stir in the honey. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Transfer the date jam to sterilized jars and store in the refrigerator.
