How To Make Red Velvet Cupcakes

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp red food coloring
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.

In a separate bowl, mix together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, vinegar, and red food coloring.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until smooth and fluffy.
