How To Make Mom’s Ginger Snaps Recipe

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar, for rolling
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the molasses and egg until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar to coat.

Place the coated balls onto a baking sheet and flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
