Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup of corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a square baking dish and set aside.

  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, heavy cream, butter, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.

  5. Gradually add the flour to the caramel mixture, stirring well until combined.

  6. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and spread evenly.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.

  8. Allow the caramel squares to cool completely before cutting into squares.
