  • 1/2 cup of golden syrup
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, golden syrup, butter, water, vinegar, and vanilla extract.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.

  3. Remove from heat and pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.

  4. Allow the toffee to cool and harden completely, then break into pieces and serve.
