Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup toffee sauce
- Whipped cream, for serving
- Caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
-
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in 1/4 cup of the toffee sauce.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the remaining toffee sauce on top. Serve with whipped cream and drizzle with caramel sauce.
