Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup golden syrup
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, melt the butter over low heat.

Add the brown sugar, molasses, and golden syrup to the skillet, stirring until combined and melted.

Remove the skillet from heat and let it cool slightly.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk. Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the skillet, stirring until a thick batter forms.

Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the skillet from the oven and let the parkin cool in the skillet for a few minutes before serving warm.
