  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with cupcake liners.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

  3. Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, orange blossom water, vanilla extract, egg, and orange zest.

  5. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
