How To Make Nutty Apple Streusel Cake

- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, nuts, flour, oats, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined and set aside.

In a separate large bowl, whisk together the salt, baking powder, baking soda, granulated sugar, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Spread the apple and nut mixture evenly on top. Top with the remaining batter.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
