Ingredients

  • 1 cup masa harina
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, whisk together masa harina and 1 cup of milk until smooth.

  2. Gradually add the remaining milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt.

  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.

  4. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

  6. Serve hot in mugs or cups.
