How To Make Israeli Borekas Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup of feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup of green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a bowl, mix feta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and green onions.

  3. Cut each pastry sheet into 6 squares.

  4. Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of cheese mixture onto each square.

  5. Brush egg wash around the edges of each square and fold in half to form a triangle.

  6. Press edges together to seal and brush egg wash on top.

  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and place borekas on a baking sheet.

  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
