How To Make Irish Potato Farls

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender. Drain and mash until smooth.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the dough comes together.

  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a round flatbread shape, about 1/4-inch thick.

  4. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and brush with melted butter.

  5. Cook the potato farls in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove from the skillet and cut each farl into quarters.

  7. Serve warm as a side dish with butter or your favorite toppings.
