Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Kolhapuri Kala Masala
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix Kala Masala, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, yogurt, and salt.

  2. Marinate the chicken pieces with the mixture, ensuring they are well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for better flavor.

  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  4. Heat oil in a pan and sear the chicken pieces on both sides for about 3-4 minutes each, until they turn golden brown.

  5. Transfer the seared chicken pieces to a baking dish and roast in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until cooked through.

  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
