Chinese Cabbage Rolls Recipe

How To Make Chinese Cabbage Rolls

Cabbage leaves rolled with seasoned pork and veggies, then steamed to perfection.

Preparation: 20 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of Chinese cabbage
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped shiitake mushrooms
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the Chinese cabbage leaves and blanch for 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground pork, cooked rice, onion, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture on each cabbage leaf and roll up tightly.
  4. Place the cabbage rolls in a steamer basket and pour the chicken broth over them.
  5. Cover the steamer and cook for 30-40 minutes or until the pork is fully cooked.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
