  • Caramel sauce, to drizzle (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the diced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  3. Transfer the apple mixture to an 8-inch square baking dish.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.

  5. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.

  6. Sprinkle the oat crumble over the apple mixture.

  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and crisp.
