How To Make Mimi’s Cafe’s French Dip Sandwich

Tender roast beef stacked on a toasted baguette with melted Swiss cheese, served with au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sliced roast beef
  • 4 French baguettes
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Cut the baguettes in half.

  3. Layer roast beef and two slices of Swiss cheese on one half of each baguette.

  4. Toast in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is crispy.

  5. In a saucepan, combine beef broth, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Serve sandwiches with small cups of the au jus for dipping.
