How To Make Joella s Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, melted butter, and egg.

  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  5. Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking pan.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Serve warm with butter.
