Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  3. Add in lemon juice and stir to combine.

  4. Pour mixture into pie crust and dot with butter.

  5. Cover with second pie crust and seal edges.

  6. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

  7. Place pie on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.

  8. Reduce heat to 375°F and continue baking for 45 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling.

  9. Let pie cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
