How To Make Bennigan’s Onion Rings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet onions
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice onions into thick rings and separate.

  2. In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.

  5. Dip onion rings in flour mixture, then buttermilk mixture, then flour mixture again.

  6. Fry the onion rings in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
