How To Make Bakers Square Coconut Cream Pie Recipe

A creamy, coconut-filled pie with a flaky crust and topped with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Toast the coconut in a pan for 5-7 minutes, set aside.

  3. Combine half-and-half, eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and salt into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick (about 10-12 minutes).

  4. Remove from heat and add in vanilla extract and 3/4 cup of coconut.

  5. Pour mixture into pie crust.

  6. Sprinkle remaining coconut on top of the pie.

  7. Bake for 25 minutes and let cool.

  8. Serve with whipped cream (optional)
