- 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 oz semisweet chocolate chips
- Whipped cream for serving

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.

In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks.

Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil, about 10-12 minutes.

Remove from heat and add unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and semisweet chocolate chips. Whisk until melted and smooth.
