How To Make Aunt Susie’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic, chewy chocolate chip cookies perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the butter mixture until just combined.

  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden brown around the edges.

  7. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
