Total: 60 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, bone-in and skin-on
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice, for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts, skin side down, and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  4. Stir in the sweet paprika and cook for 1 minute.

  5. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream and flour until smooth. Gradually stir the sour cream mixture into the skillet. Continue cooking until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.

  7. Serve the chicken paprikash over cooked egg noodles or rice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
