How To Make Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
These pancakes are the epitome of classic breakfast food. They’re fluffy and golden brown on the outside, while light and airy on the inside – perfect for stacking high and drowning in syrup.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tbsp of white sugar
- 1 1/4 cups of milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp of unsalted butter, melted
- cooking spray or extra butter for greasing the pan
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
-
In a separate bowl, beat the egg and stir in the milk and melted butter.
-
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until just combined (there may be some lumps in the batter, which is okay).
-
Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and grease with cooking spray or a pat of butter.
-
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges start to dry, then flip and cook until the other side is golden brown.
-
Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
