How To Make Easy Bread Rolls
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
-
Stir in the warm milk and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough back into the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Cover with the kitchen towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Brush the rolls with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if desired.
-
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
