How To Make Black Bean Burger Recipe

A meatless burger made with black beans and seasoned to perfection.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 small egg
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Burger buns and toppings of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a bowl, mash black beans with a fork or potato masher.

  3. Add in breadcrumbs, onion, egg, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Mix well.

  4. Form mixture into 4 patties.

  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  6. Cook patties until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  7. Place skillet in the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cooked through.

  8. Serve on burger buns with desired toppings.
