  • 1/4 cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large pot with a tight-fitting lid, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

  2. Add the popcorn kernels and sugar to the pot, stirring gently to coat the kernels in the oil and sugar.

  3. Cover the pot with the lid and shake it gently to distribute the heat evenly.

  4. As the kernels start to pop, continue shaking the pot periodically to prevent burning.

  5. Once the popping slows down to 2-3 seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat.

  6. Immediately sprinkle the salt over the popped corn and give it a quick toss to evenly distribute the salt.

  7. Allow the kettle corn to cool for a few minutes before serving.
