Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of lardo
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Place the bread slices on a baking tray and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.

  3. Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium heat and fry the lardo slices until crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  4. Remove the bread slices from the oven and top each slice with a crispy lardo slice.

  5. Arrange the apple slices on top of the lardo and drizzle with honey and balsamic vinegar.

  6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

  8. Serve immediately.
