Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions
  • 1/4 cup diced water chestnuts
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  2. Add the green onions, water chestnuts, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, ginger, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

  3. Lay out the wonton wrappers and place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each wrapper. Brush the edges of the wrappers with water and fold them in half to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal.

  4. In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the wontons in batches and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.

  5. Serve the crispy wontons hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
