How To Make Giordano’s Mozzarella Sticks

Savory and crispy appetizer with gooey mozzarella cheese center.

Ingredients

  • 16 sticks of part-skim mozzarella string cheese
  • ½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp of milk
  • 1 cup of Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of dried basil
  • 1 tsp of dried oregano
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut each cheese stick in half.

  2. Prepare 3 bowls, one with flour, one with beaten eggs and milk, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, garlic powder, basil, and oregano.

  3. Roll each cheese stick in flour.

  4. Dip each flour-coated cheese stick in the egg mixture and then roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated. Repeat with remaining sticks.

  5. Freeze the coated cheese sticks for 10-15 minutes.

  6. Preheat the oil over medium heat.

  7. Fry the cheese sticks for about 30-60 seconds until golden brown.

  8. Serve with marinara sauce.
