How To Make French Stuffing

Stuffing is a great add-on to your main dishes. More than just something to fill the turkey with during Thanksgiving, stuffing is a wonderful side dish to complement your dish of choice. There’s no stopping you in enjoying this stuffing recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups stale bread, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, and garlic, and sauté until softened.

  3. Add the dried thyme, sage, and rosemary to the skillet, and cook for an additional 2 minutes to release their flavors.

  4. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes with the sautéed onion mixture. Pour the broth over the bread mixture and stir well to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is crispy and golden.

  7. Serve the French stuffing alongside your roasted meats or poultry.
