  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of dried herbs (such as thyme, rosemary, or parsley)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Lay the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.

  3. Toast the bread slices in the oven for about 5 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.

  4. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool.

  5. Once cooled, break the bread into small crumbs using your hands or a food processor.

  6. In a saucepan, heat another tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

  7. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

  8. Add the bread crumbs, dried herbs, salt, and pepper to the saucepan.

  9. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the bread crumbs are lightly toasted.

  10. Slowly pour in the milk and stir continuously until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

  11. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
