Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.

  2. Add the torn sourdough bread pieces to the pan. Cook until the bread begins to toast and turn golden brown.

  3. Add the milk, vegetable broth, dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the pan. Stir well to combine.

  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, or until the bread has absorbed the liquid and the sauce has thickened.

  5. Remove the pan from heat and let the sauce cool slightly. Transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender to blend until smooth.

  6. Pour the sauce back into the pan and heat over low heat until warmed through.

  7. Serve the sourdough bread sauce with your favorite dishes.
