  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant.

  2. Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir in dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  3. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving.

  5. Serve over your favorite cooked pasta and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
