How To Make Hershey Syrup (Hershey’s Copycat)

Amp up fluffy pancakes or creamy milkshakes with this Hershey syrup made from scratch! Cocoa powder and vanilla extract are mixed for a luscious glaze.

Cooking: 6 minutes
Total: 9 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • ¾cupcocoa powder
  • cupswater
  • cupssugar
  • cupsvanilla extract
  • 1dashsalt

Instructions

  1. Use a big saucepan, at least 8 cups.

  2. Combine the cocoa powder, water, sugar and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix with a whisk until smooth.

  3. Stir constantly with a whisk or a wooden spoon until it boils.

  4. Allow it to boil for 1 to 2 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat.

  6. Add vanilla.

  7. The syrup will be very thin and watery. Allow to cool completely and it will thicken to about the same consistency as Hershey’s syrup.

  8. Use as desired and enjoy.
