  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Add flour and whisk continuously for 1 minute to make a roux.

  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, oregano, and salt.

  4. Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth.

  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  7. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
