How To Make Instant Pot Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo Recipe
A classic recipe with succulent shrimp, spicy sausage, and flavorful roux.

Ingredients
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound of andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 cup of onion, chopped
- 1 cup of celery, chopped
- 1 cup of green pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 4 cups of chicken broth
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of paprika
- 1 tsp of thyme
- 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp of hot sauce
- 3 cups of cooked white rice
Instructions

Set Instant Pot to sauté mode and add vegetable oil.

Once oil is heated, add flour and whisk until roux turns light brown.

Add onion, celery, and green pepper and sauté for 5 minutes.

Add garlic, salt, paprika, thyme, cayenne pepper, and bay leaves; stir for 1 minute.

Add sausage and stir for 3 minutes, then add shrimp and stir for another 2 minutes.

Pour in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce; stir well.

Close lid and cook on high pressure for 20 minutes.

Once cooking time is complete, allow a natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release.

Serve with cooked white rice.
