How To Make Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie Recipe
A hearty and satisfying dish with a creamy sweet potato topping and flavorful meat filling.

Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Place sweet potatoes in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and milk.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add ground meat, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned, breaking up any clumps.

Stir in tomato paste and broth, and simmer for 5 minutes.

Mix in frozen vegetables.

Spread meat mixture into a 9×9 inch baking dish. Spread sweet potato mixture on top.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, until top is lightly browned.
