How To Make Beignets Recipe

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- powdered sugar, for serving
Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

Add warm water, milk, melted butter, and egg to the bowl, and mix until the dough comes together.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Heat vegetable oil in a large pot until it reaches 375°F.

Roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into squares or circles.

Fry the beignets in hot oil, turning once, until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side).
