How To Make Ghostly Meringue Cookies Recipe

These spooky meringue cookies are perfect for Halloween!

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • black food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until frothy. Add in sugar, cream of tartar, and vanilla extract.

  3. Continue to beat mixture until stiff peaks form.

  4. Add in a few drops of black food coloring and gently fold until the mixture is evenly colored.

  5. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag with a plain tip and pipe cookies onto the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Bake for 2 hours or until the cookies are crispy and dry.

  7. Turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside to cool completely.
