How To Make Strawberry Shortcake
Delicious, fluffy cake filled with fresh strawberries and whipped cream
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small cubes
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Add chilled cubes of butter and mix until mixture becomes crumbly.

Stir in milk and vanilla extract and mix until a dough forms.

Place dough in a greased 8-inch cake pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Let cool for 10 minutes then slice cake in half horizontally.

Mix heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.

Spread whipped cream on the bottom layer of cake and add sliced strawberries.

Place top layer of cake on top of strawberries and whipped cream.

Add remaining strawberries on top and serve.
